President's Story
Shamim Anwar, the President and visionary behind Jumadin Trust, brings a unique blend of international professional standards and deep-rooted compassion to the humanitarian landscape of Birgunj, Nepal.
Before returning to his homeland, Shamim spent 20 years living and studying in Australia. This two-decade journey provided him with more than just an international education; it instilled in him a profound understanding of organized philanthropy, transparency, and community governance. During his time abroad, he remained deeply connected to his roots, serving as an active member and leader within prominent organizations such as the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) and Help Nepal Network. His work with the diaspora focused on mobilizing resources and advocating for the welfare of Nepalese citizens from afar.
The Return to Nepal In 2021, driven by a desire to implement the "service above self" philosophy directly on the ground, Shamim made the pivotal decision to relocate back to Nepal. He recognized that while international aid is vital, sustainable change requires local leadership that understands the cultural, religious, and socio-economic nuances of the community.
The Vision for Jumadin Trust Since his return, Shamim has dedicated his life to serving the people of Birgunj and the surrounding Parsa district through the Jumadin Trust. Under his leadership, the Trust operates on three core pillars:
Transparency: Applying the rigorous accountability standards he practiced in Australia.
Dignity: Ensuring that every recipient of Zakat or Sadaqah is treated with the utmost respect.
Impact: Moving beyond short-term relief to create long-term educational and social empowerment.
"After two decades abroad, I realized that the greatest skill I could bring back to Nepal wasn't just my professional experience, but a commitment to transparent, faith-based service. Jumadin Trust is my way of ensuring that the blessings we receive are shared with those who need them most in our own backyard." — Shamim Anwar
